About the position

The Actuarial Analyst I - III position at Blue Cross of Idaho is responsible for utilizing actuarial models to support the company's profitability and membership objectives. This role involves performing experience analysis, establishing financial projections, and assisting with the annual Medicare bid process. The analyst will also develop reserves for various Medicare products and create ad hoc reports for government entities.

Responsibilities

• Use actuarial models to ensure profitability and membership goals are met.
• Perform experience analysis for blocks of business.
• Establish financial projections and assist with the annual Medicare bid process.
• Develop reserves for Medicare, Part D, and Med Supplement products.
• Create ad hoc reporting for government entities including CMS and IDHW.
• Set claim liabilities and develop rates and rate factors.
• Analyze claim costs and premium factors.
• Evaluate potential savings from claim reduction initiatives.
• Monitor and measure actual results.
• Perform corporate reserving and forecasting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college).
• Must be pursuing designation of ASA in the Society of Actuaries with a minimum completion of one exam (for Actuarial Analyst I).
• 2 years' relevant experience for Actuarial Analyst II, with a minimum completion of three exams in ASA.
• 4 years' relevant experience for Actuarial Analyst III, with a minimum completion of five or more exams in ASA.
