About the position

We are seeking multiple entry-level Actuarial Analysts to join our team at our League City, TX location. In this position, you will support our modeling and/or experience studies/assumption team. This position is an exam track, actuarial role. If selected as an Actuarial Analyst, you would be eligible for our robust and supportive Actuarial Student Program. The responsibilities of this position primarily involve learning to perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses such as modeling, data analysis, and other tasks as assigned. As an Actuarial Analyst I, you will learn fundamental actuarial principles that you will apply in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analyses, in accordance with the “SOA code of Professional Conduct” and the Actuarial Standards of Practice. You will prepare summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to home office and field management, other American National departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators. You will also learn processes and begin to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately. In this role, you will learn and begin to use spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analyses. You will perform actuarial valuation by updating valuation models, reflecting new assumptions and data. Additionally, you will prepare for and progress in the SOA examinations through on-the-job and home study, ensuring that you are well-equipped for your career in actuarial science.

Responsibilities

  • Learns fundamental actuarial principles that the actuarial analyst I applies in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analyses, in accordance with the 'SOA code of Professional Conduct' and the Actuarial Standards of Practice.
  • Prepares summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to home office and field management, other American National departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators.
  • Learns processes and begins to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
  • Learns and begins to use spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analyses.
  • Performs actuarial valuation by updating valuation models, reflecting new assumptions and data.
  • Prepares for and progresses in the SOA examinations through on-the-job and home study.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required.
  • 2 or more actuarial exams to include Exam FM and P.
