The Actuarial Analyst I position is part of the Facultative Pricing team, which is seeking a motivated individual to join their ranks in either the New York City office or Stamford, CT. This hybrid role allows for three days of onsite work and two days of remote work, providing a balanced work environment. As an Actuarial Analyst, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with other actuaries, underwriters, and management to perform transactional actuarial pricing analyses. The role involves conducting studies on various lines of business and profitability reviews, assisting in rate monitoring reports, and updating model parameters. This position is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of property and casualty (P&C) actuarial pricing, particularly those with experience in large account or reinsurance pricing. Candidates should have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Working closely with other actuaries as well as with underwriters and management.
  • Performing transactional actuarial pricing analyses.
  • Conducting lines of business studies and profitability reviews.
  • Assisting in rate monitoring reports.
  • Updating model parameters.

Requirements

  • 0 - 2 years of P&C actuarial pricing experience, with large account or reinsurance pricing experience being a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, Python, and/or R is preferred.
  • Completion of 2+ actuarial exams and actively pursuing credentialing in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A business-oriented focus that is motivated, self-directed, organized, and analytical.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
