About the position

The Actuarial Analyst I position is an entry-level role designed for individuals pursuing a career in actuarial science. This role involves supporting the modeling and experience studies teams, performing complex actuarial analyses, and preparing actuarial reports. The position is part of an exam track program, allowing candidates to progress in their actuarial examinations while gaining practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Learns fundamental actuarial principles and applies them in analyzing company and industry data.
• Prepares summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to various stakeholders including management and regulators.
• Begins to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
• Learns to use spreadsheets, databases, and data sources for actuarial analyses.
• Performs actuarial valuation by updating valuation models with new assumptions and data.
• Prepares for and progresses in the SOA examinations through on-the-job and home study.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required.
• 2 or more actuarial exams to include Exam FM and P.
