About the position

The Actuarial Analyst II position at Chubb is a full-time role based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, operating on a hybrid schedule. This position supports the Chubb Small Commercial Actuarial team and may also consider candidates from other locations, including Jersey City, Philadelphia, and Simsbury, CT. The primary focus of this role is to maintain commercial auto and workers' compensation rating plans using Python, while coordinating with the internal actuarial team. In this role, the analyst will assist in the development and implementation of a new auto rating plan in production, performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure its success. The analyst will also participate in the auto pricing study and other strategic projects as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the actuarial team. Additionally, the analyst will help run the monthly Performance Monitoring Report and provide supporting analyses as needed. The position requires exploring and performing various actuarial analyses, including rate dislocation and pricing model monitoring. The analyst will also support other ad-hoc analyses and provide prompt responses to business requests, ensuring that the actuarial team meets its objectives efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain commercial auto and workers' compensation rating plans in Python, coordinating with the internal actuarial team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a new auto rating plan in production and perform UAT testing to ensure success.
  • Participate in the auto pricing study and other strategic projects as assigned.
  • Help run the monthly Performance Monitoring Report and supporting analyses, as needed.
  • Explore and perform actuarial analyses including rate dislocation and pricing model monitoring.
  • Support other ad-hoc analyses and provide prompt responses to business requests.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Python for actuarial analysis and rating plan maintenance.
  • Experience in commercial auto and workers' compensation insurance.
  • Ability to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure successful implementation of rating plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to explore and perform actuarial analyses.
  • Experience in preparing performance monitoring reports and supporting analyses.
