About the position

The Actuarial Analyst III - Medicare Risk Adjustment position at Elevance Health is a critical role that involves completing diverse and complex actuarial projects. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model, balancing remote work with time spent in the office, and should reside within 50 miles of an Elevance Health PulsePoint location, preferably in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, the Actuarial Analyst III will insource Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment Analytics from vendors, ensuring that the company has the necessary data and insights to make informed decisions. The analyst will also analyze and implement risk contracts, which includes conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing, and settlement work. Additionally, the analyst will prepare management reports that support new capitation initiatives, providing valuable information to leadership and stakeholders. The position also involves a mentoring component, as the Actuarial Analyst III will assist in training actuarial trainees, analysts, and specialists, helping to develop the next generation of actuarial professionals. Furthermore, the analyst will coordinate and direct special actuarial projects, showcasing their leadership and project management skills. This role is non-management exempt and operates primarily during the first shift in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Insources Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment Analytics from vendors.
  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work.
  • Prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree.
  • Must have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medicare Advantage and/or Medicaid Risk Adjustment experience is strongly preferred.
