The Actuarial Analyst III will be a key member of the American National P&C Reserving team that is responsible for analyzing all P&C entities' reserve adequacy. This position involves performing and communicating actuarial analyses in loss reserving, reinsurance administration, and financial reporting. The analyst will also support other key functions outside of reserving, including pricing, forecasting, and modeling. The role requires the analyst to work fairly independently without significant management oversight, and the analyst will be expected to relocate to one of American National's offices: Houston, TX; League City, TX; Glenmont, NY; or Springfield, MO. In this role, the analyst will apply fundamental actuarial principles to prepare detailed reserving analyses for a variety of P&C coverages. They will assist in developing the actuarial workbooks necessary for the annual reserve opinion and prepare summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to executives, other American National departments, reinsurers, and regulators. The analyst will also work on improving the efficiency of regular monthly and quarterly actuarial processes and assist Finance and other actuarial departments with special projects on an as-needed basis. Additionally, the analyst will prepare for and progress in the CAS examinations.
