About the position

Milliman is seeking interns for its Summer 2025 Internship Program, which provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the healthcare actuarial field. This program is designed to immerse interns in a dynamic healthcare environment, allowing them to work alongside experienced actuaries on various actuarial topics, utilizing Milliman tools and data, and engaging in research projects and client work. Interns will be assigned mentors who will guide them throughout the program, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed. The internship lasts for 9 weeks, from June 9, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and offers paid work experience in a collaborative team setting. Interns will participate in real-time work, contributing to projects that drive the future of healthcare. This role is ideal for students currently enrolled in accredited colleges or universities, particularly those in actuarial science, economics, risk management, finance, math, or statistics programs. The internship is an excellent opportunity for those committed to pursuing an actuarial career, including taking actuarial exams and attending relevant conferences. While passing an exam is not a requirement for participation, candidates with at least one passed exam will be preferred. The program emphasizes detail orientation, effective teamwork, and strong written and verbal communication skills, preparing interns for future roles in the actuarial field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in various actuarial projects and research tasks under the guidance of assigned mentors.
  • Utilize Milliman tools and data to analyze healthcare actuarial topics.
  • Collaborate with team members to contribute to real-time work and client projects.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities throughout the internship.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, typically as a junior or senior, or attending graduate school.
  • Participation in an actuarial science, economics, risk management, finance, math, or statistics program.
  • Commitment to an actuarial career, including pursuing actuarial exams and attending actuarial conferences.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to carry out tasks thoroughly and accurately.
  • Effective teamwork and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one passed actuarial exam is preferred.
