About the position

The Actuarial Analyst (P&C) at CNA Insurance is responsible for providing actuarial reserving support and conducting research across various casualty products, specifically focusing on Umbrella and General Liability reserving. This role involves analyzing financial and statistical data, assisting in reserve determination, and collaborating with business partners to prepare materials for meetings. The position also includes participation in CNA's Actuarial Education Program, which supports employees in their pursuit of actuarial credentials.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial, statistical, and mathematical data to identify trends driving business outcomes.
• Assist in the determination of reserves and cash flow projections for quarterly reserve reviews.
• Collaborate with business partners to gather information and prepare materials for meetings.
• Monitor trends and develop recommendations within specific product lines or business segments.
• Prepare standard and special reports for management as needed.
• Maintain documentation of actuarial methods used.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Entry-level position, typically requiring up to two years of experience.
• Progress toward actuarial accreditation with one to three successfully completed CAS exams.
