About the position

The Actuarial Analyst 1, Analytics/Forecasting plays a crucial role in analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information that supports strategic and operational decisions within the organization. This position is integral to establishing metrics and providing data analyses that directly support business intelligence initiatives. The analyst evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position, ensuring that the company remains proactive in its strategic planning. The work assignments for the Actuarial Analyst 1 are often straightforward and of moderate complexity, allowing for a structured approach to problem-solving. A key responsibility of this role is to ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. The analyst collaborates with various stakeholders to understand business needs and issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost-effective resolutions for any data anomalies that may arise. In this position, the analyst is expected to understand their work area’s professional concepts, standards, regulations, strategies, and operating standards. They will make decisions regarding their work approach and priorities while following guidance from established precedents and documented procedures. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and forecast financial, economic, and other data to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Establish metrics and provide data analyses to support business intelligence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Successful completion of at least 1 Actuarial Exam.
  • Meets requirements for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP).
  • Strong communication skills.
