We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join FCCI's Actuarial Pricing team. This position is ideal for an actuarial student who has successfully completed 2 to 3 actuarial exams. The selected individual will provide both quantitative and qualitative support for various actuarial functions including pricing and filings, product development, financial analysis, management reporting, and other actuarial research, utilizing actuarial concepts and computing tools. The Actuarial Analyst will assist the Pricing team with essential tasks such as rate reviews, rate filings, and data preparation while gaining a deeper understanding of actuarial concepts and principles. Key responsibilities include extracting and processing input data, ensuring data quality, preparing and updating actuarial rate reviews and filings, documenting assumptions, and responding to inquiries from insurance departments. The Analyst will need to be proficient in computer technology, programming languages, and software tools to effectively extract and integrate data from various databases for analysis and report generation. Responsibilities

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative support for actuarial pricing and filings.
  • Assist with product development and financial analysis.
  • Conduct management reporting and other actuarial research.
  • Support the Pricing team with rate reviews and rate filings.
  • Extract and process input data while ensuring data quality.
  • Prepare and update actuarial rate reviews and filings.
  • Document assumptions and respond to insurance department inquiries.
  • Utilize computer technology and programming languages to extract and integrate data from various databases.
  • Analyze and develop reports and spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of actuarial pricing and filings experience.
  • Successful completion of at least 2 - 3 actuarial exams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft VBA, Excel, SQL, and at least one Statistical Programming Language.
  • Ability to define problems, troubleshoot issues, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong quantitative, mathematical, and analytical skills for data analysis and preparation.
  • Self-motivated with time management and organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to build relationships and collaborate across the organization.
  • A positive track record and desire to learn and share knowledge, with a desire to be mentored for continuous success.
