About the position

The Actuarial Analyst position at Elevance Health is a hybrid role that combines remote work with in-office responsibilities. The ideal candidate will reside within 50 miles of one of the Elevance Health PulsePoint locations. This role is pivotal in assisting with the determination of rates and involves analyzing, developing, and validating statistical data. Under limited supervision, the Actuarial Analyst will apply appropriate actuarial analytical tools to data and perform preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis. The position requires updating actuarial pricing, valuation, and forecasting models as directed, as well as refining and collecting appropriate data for actuarial analysis to ensure its reasonableness and accuracy through coordination within the division. The Actuarial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the company's mission to improve lives and communities by making healthcare simpler. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the determination of rates for various actuarial functions.
  • Analyze, develop, and validate statistical data to support actuarial processes.
  • Apply actuarial analytical tools to data under limited supervision.
  • Perform preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis as required.
  • Update actuarial pricing, valuation, and forecasting models as directed.
  • Refine and collect appropriate data for actuarial analysis, ensuring its accuracy and reasonableness.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
  • Passed a minimum of one Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exam.
  • Combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
