About the position

The Actuarial Analyst at CURE Auto Insurance will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth by engaging in various actuarial tasks such as rate indication, reserving, and predictive modeling. This position is integral to ensuring the profitability of CURE Auto Insurance by analyzing data and trends to inform business decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review rate indications to determine base rate adequacy and rate needs.
  • Analyze premium and loss trends to inform business decisions.
  • Understand CURE's competitive position and identify suitable rating factors from competitors' filings.
  • Complete quarterly reserve analysis and conduct in-depth claims analysis to drive operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with business users to create, test, and refine predictive models, quantifying business benefits and presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide premium and loss data to reinsurers and conduct feasibility studies for other lines of business and expansion into new states.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of P&C actuarial experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related major.
  • 1+ actuarial exams and interest in pursuing the ACAS and FCAS credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Proficiency in SQL and MS Office.
  • Experience with Python and VBA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
