About the position

Combined Insurance, a Chubb Company, is seeking an Actuarial Data Analyst to join our fast-paced, high energy, growing company. As an Actuarial Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in working with data, preparing reports, and performing actuarial functions as directed by your supervisor. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work with both internal and third-party data feeds to ensure data quality and accuracy. You will be responsible for conducting deep dives into data, identifying root causes of gaps in data availability, coverage, and accuracy, and rectifying any identified deficiencies. In this role, you will closely collaborate with the actuarial team to support product pricing, experience analysis, valuation, or rate filing. Additionally, you will work with other business units such as underwriting, compliance, claims, and legal to provide requested reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong math aptitude, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational skills. A willingness to learn and expand responsibilities is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Reliability in achieving quality, accuracy, and timelines of work products is critical to success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Work with data, prepares reports, performs actuarial functions as directed by supervisor.
  • Conduct deep dive into internal and 3rd party data feeds and create tools to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Identify root cause of gaps in data availability, coverage and accuracy and rectify identified data deficiencies.
  • Closely collaborate with actuarial team in support of product pricing, experience analysis, valuation or rate filing.
  • Closely work with other business units (underwriting, compliance, claims, legals, etc), to provide reports requested.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and SQL
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Strong math aptitude and business sense
  • Willing to learn and expand responsibility
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Reliability to achieve quality, accuracy, and timelines of work products
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or other related fields)
  • 1+ years of data analysis experience in insurance industry preferred.
