About the position
The Actuarial Summer Intern position at Arch Capital Group offers students an 8-week internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in the insurance industry. Interns will work closely with the Actuarial team, gaining insights into data analysis, reserve studies, and pricing models while developing professional skills and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Support the Actuarial team by gathering and scrubbing data for analysis.
- Attend team meetings and continuing education sessions to understand Arch's business units.
- Prepare spreadsheets for reserve studies and analyze reserve and forecast model output.
- Create detailed analysis of the company's competitive position in the marketplace.
- Populate pricing models with client or industry data and assist with running the pricing models.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a degree in Actuarial Sciences or a relevant program.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student.
- Understanding of statistical theories and models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated interest in the actuarial/insurance field.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be a continuous learner.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
