About the position

The Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting plays a crucial role in analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and other data to support strategic and operational decisions within the organization. This position is responsible for establishing metrics, conducting data analyses, and collaborating with stakeholders to address business needs. The Actuary ensures data integrity and provides insights into industry trends to forecast the organization's financial and competitive position over various timeframes. The role requires independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues, working under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and forecast financial, economic, and other data to provide timely information for decision-making.
  • Establish metrics and conduct data analyses to support business intelligence.
  • Evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's financial position.
  • Ensure data integrity by developing and executing processes and controls around data flow.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop cost-effective resolutions for data anomalies.
  • Advise executives on functional strategies related to significant matters.
  • Exercise independent judgment on complex issues regarding job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree or professional designations
  • MAAA certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in more than two functions such as modeling, pricing, or reporting
  • Proficiency with at least one software coding language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medicare Advantage experience
  • Experience with SQL and VBA
  • Experience with Power Platform / Azure Synapse / Databricks / Python
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies to transform financial and Actuarial work
  • Experience with building and owning Actuarial pricing methodologies.
