Acute Dialysis Patient Care Technician

About the position

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with renal failure. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective dialysis treatment, ensuring patient comfort, and adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during dialysis treatment.
• Gather patient statistics before and after treatment.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment.
• Collect patient blood samples as per physician orders.
• Prepare and maintain dialysis machines for treatment.
• Clean and disinfect machines after use.
• Conduct safety checks on machines and log results for quality control.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
• Participate in required staff meetings and continuing education.

Requirements

• Must possess current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certificate or equivalent based on state requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to patient contact.
