About the position

The Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is an entry-level position within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) at Fresenius Kidney Care. This role is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The RN will work collaboratively with the kidney disease healthcare team, participate in decision-making, and engage in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients.
  • Perform ongoing collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post-treatment.
  • Document patient data in the medical record and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Assess and document patient/family learning needs and provide education.
  • Recognize and report variations in patient status to appropriate health team members.
  • Direct and provide safe and effective patient care for all modality-specific treatment procedures.
  • Collaborate with direct and ancillary patient care staff to meet daily patient care needs.
  • Initiate and coordinate communication with dialysis providers and contracted facility personnel.
  • Administer medications and document medical justification and effectiveness.
  • Assist with emergency response measures and serve as a resource for the healthcare team.
  • Participate in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current appropriate state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Entry-level for RNs with less than 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last two years.
  • 6 months of acute dialysis experience preferred.
  • Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • 12 months of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • Experience in nephrology nursing preferred.
