About the position

The ADABAS Natural Programmer/DBA role involves supporting a large-scale legacy system while utilizing extensive experience in ADABAS/Natural programming and database administration. The position requires a qualified programmer/analyst to conduct analysis, provide expertise, and document processes related to the ADABAS environment.

Responsibilities

• Support a large-scale ADABAS/NATURAL legacy system.
• Conduct analysis as required to accomplish the coding assignments.
• Provide ADABAS DBA expertise.
• Document program, data flow, and related processes.
• Test modifications using debug tools.
• Work with file manipulation tools.
• Work with business customers to help with requirements definitions.
• Work with business customers to explain the achieved solution.
• Provide system knowledge, expertise, and related additional deliverables as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in ADABAS/Natural programming and ADABAS DBA skills.
• Proficient in Job Control Language (JCL) within the ISPF/TSO interface.
• Experience with ADABAS DBA using Software AG tools and Natural toolkit.
• Knowledge of z/OS and/or MVS Operating System.
• Familiarity with IBM mainframe utilities (e.g., IDCAMS, IEBGENER, SYNCSORT, FTP, etc.).
• Experience with TSO/ISPF and JCL.
• Flat file processing experience.
• Understanding of SDLC and testing methodology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Excel, Visio, Power Point, Word, etc.).
• Experience with IBM PD Tools (e.g., Debug, File Manager, Fault Analyzer).
• Experience with File-Aid and Xpediter.
