About the position

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary Adjunct Assistant Professor position in Adapted Physical Education (APE). The role involves teaching assigned classes, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining professional standards while contributing to curriculum development and faculty governance. The position is designed to support students in mastering course content and achieving their maximum potential.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
• Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content.
• Assess student learning outcomes.
• Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.
• Continue professional development.
• Utilize current technology in job performance.
• Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
• Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
• Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.

Requirements

• Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR the equivalent.
