The Adaptive Sports Associate position at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital is designed for individuals passionate about promoting active and healthy lifestyles for people of all abilities through adaptive sports and recreational activities. The Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers (SASC) provide a variety of land and water activities tailored to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities. This role is crucial in ensuring that participants can engage in these activities safely and effectively, with the support of trained clinicians and adaptive sports professionals. The associate will work under the guidance of the SASC Cape Cod Coordinator and will be involved in a hybrid working model that includes on-site work in Cape Cod, remote tasks, and travel to various regional locations. Key responsibilities include assisting with the operational and programmatic aspects of adaptive sports programs, which encompass activities such as cycling, tennis, kayaking, outrigger canoeing, and paddle boarding. The associate will be responsible for reviewing participant intakes to assess equipment needs, communicating directly with clients for assessments, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition before and after each session. Additionally, the role involves loading and driving Spaulding vehicles and trailers to different programming locations, ensuring that all logistical aspects of the activities are managed efficiently.
