About the position

The ADAS Test Engineer will be a key member of the Advanced Safety Controls (ASC) Division at Honda, focusing on the advancement and integration of driving assistance and vehicle dynamics control technologies. This role involves developing and validating ADAS control system software to meet the needs of the North American light-duty market, while working under the guidance of senior engineers to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Verify ADAS control system software function through standard requirement testing on simulation benches and in vehicles.
  • Validate ADAS control system software via calibration and testing, addressing any issues found in collaboration with Technical Experts and other function PICs.
  • Prepare verification test result documentation for assigned functions and present findings to Section Chief, Technical Expert, and Chief Engineer during data verification reviews.
  • Manage one or more functions in vehicle development projects related to ADAS control system specifications, maintaining schedules and task lists to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Support the integration of software functions into vehicles and verify their performance in collaboration with Technical Experts and experienced PICs.
  • Participate in assessment and development planning activities to enhance personal expertise and capabilities, including obtaining relevant professional accreditations.
  • Identify shortcomings in function specifications through market analysis and competitive benchmarking, suggesting improvements to enhance the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Co-op/intern experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures or microcontroller communication structures.
  • Familiarity with control specification development.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for troubleshooting control system issues and proposing solutions.
  • Hands-on mechanical ability and understanding of vehicle systems and cross-functional interactions.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other technical software.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems such as ETAS and Vector CAN tools is a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or Matlab is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 standard for functional safety.
