About the position

The Addiction Counselor 2 position at Marion County Health and Human Services involves providing person-centered, recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment and case management services to individuals involved with the criminal justice system. The role emphasizes collaborative care coordination and aims to support individuals in their recovery journey through various therapeutic interventions and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Conduct ASAM assessments and develop individualized service plans.
  • Deliver psychoeducation and skills-building to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Assist individuals in building recovery networks and maintaining rapport.
  • Collaborate with community partners and RESTORE Court to ensure effective treatment and support.
  • Maintain clinical records in compliance with health and program requirements.
  • Facilitate timely referrals to appropriate resources and evaluate treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in weekly RESTORE Court meetings and contribute as a team member.
  • Train newly hired staff and oversee CADC interns.

Requirements

  • Must possess or obtain a current MHACBO CADC II certification within six months of hire.
  • Two years of full-time work experience in addiction counseling or program coordination.
  • Current driver's license and acceptable driving history.
