About the position

The Addiction Technician at Mirror in Shawnee, Kansas, is responsible for monitoring client behavior and movements, transporting clients, and supporting clinical programs and services. This role involves supervising clients, charting their behavior, performing clerical tasks, ensuring security, and assisting clinical staff as needed. This is a PRN position, ideal for those with a background in human services or addiction treatment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client behavior and movements.
• Transport clients as needed.
• Observe client urinalysis screens.
• Support clinical programs and services offered by Mirror.
• Supervise clients and chart their behavior.
• Perform clerical tasks related to the work environment.
• Ensure security and compliance with paperwork requirements for client urinalysis testing.
• Assist clinical staff whenever needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• College courses in human services or addiction preferred.
• Experience supervising and interacting with persons addicted to drugs or the prison population preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word; basic understanding of Excel preferred.
• Good reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through with multiple tasks related to client charting.
• Capable of working overtime hours past 40.
• Awareness of the disease of addiction.
• Must pass KBI (et al.) security check.
• Must be free of chemical dependency for at least 2 years prior to employment.
• Proficient in computer skills and/or experience with Electronic Health Records.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a clinical setting related to addiction treatment.
• Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medication Aide.
