About the position

The position involves leading and executing engineering projects focused on solving complex mechanical and additive manufacturing problems. The role requires a deep understanding of design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) and laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) best practices, as well as the ability to interface with customers and generate engineering documentation and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex mechanical and additive manufacturing problems with limited to no supervision.
• Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects, utilizing design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) and laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) best practices.
• Specify the development of, design, or modify engineering detailed drawings/specifications of complex additively manufactured parts.
• Interface with internal and external customers regarding a wide range of complex mechanical issues for specific projects.
• Implement concepts for a range of complex product issues and solutions.
• May be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.
• Establish standards across all operational processes.
• Serve as a technical expert on specialized projects or programs.
• Generate product specifications.
• Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports.
• Specify and review engineering documentation.
• Specify or perform engineering analysis of complex scope with limited to no supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 7 - 10 years of work experience in mechanical and additive manufacturing.
