About the position

The Adjudicator position at One Federal Solution involves conducting personnel security adjudications for a government agency. The role requires evaluating investigative reports, making eligibility determinations for access to classified information, and preparing detailed documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal adjudications and hold an active Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate reports of investigations and interpret adjudicative guidelines.
  • Document findings with clear justifications for eligibility determinations for SCI classified information access.
  • Identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in investigative documents and recommend additional actions or clarifications.
  • Prepare detailed written documentation such as statements of reasons, letters of intent, advisory letters, and denial of access memoranda.
  • Recommend security clearance eligibility decisions, including complex and sensitive cases, with thorough justification.
  • Update security clearance databases (e.g., Scattered Castles, JPAS, DCII, CVS) to reflect eligibility determinations.
  • Engage with government security officials and external agencies to address personnel security-related issues.
  • Attend meetings to review security case files and provide expert recommendations.
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation to support personnel security program requirements.
  • Conduct adjudicative read-downs against national security criteria.
  • Review classified and unclassified materials relevant to adjudicative processes.
  • Respond to legal briefs and appeals actions, preparing analyses for security appeals panels.
  • Provide assessments and consult with management on resolving conflicts and improving organizational dynamics.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Basic and Advanced Suitability Adjudication Course.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in adjudicating suitability and security background investigations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eQIP processing.
  • Experienced with NP2 Suite applications, LexisNexis, and ISMS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness.
  • Skilled in report writing and presenting conclusions effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle tight, conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate activities with teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel security and fitness/suitability.
  • Ability to interact professionally with representatives, executives, and directors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LexisNexis (2 years preferred).
