About the position

The Adjunct Clinical Nursing Faculty at Galen College of Nursing is responsible for engaging in the full scope of the academic nurse educator role, which includes facilitating learning, using assessment strategies, participating in curriculum development, and evaluating program outcomes. The role requires a commitment to student success and adherence to regulatory standards, with responsibilities that may include teaching day, evening, or weekend classes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Effectively facilitates learning and learner development.
• Creates an environment that facilitates students' learning and achievement of desired outcomes.
• Implements a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs.
• Uses information technologies and eLearning technology to support the teaching-learning process.
• Provides resources to students that help meet their individual learning needs.
• Helps students develop as nurses and integrate expected values and behaviors.
• Serves as a faculty advisor for student program and career planning.
• Uses a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning.
• Provides timely feedback to students regarding course performance.
• Analyzes student assessment data to inform course improvement.
• Implements a curriculum that articulates program student learning outcomes.
• Regularly reviews and revises the curriculum based on various assessments.
• Designs and implements program assessments for continuous quality improvement.
• Participates in professional development activities to enhance faculty effectiveness.
• Uses evidence-based research to improve teaching and learning.
• Develops leadership skills to implement change within the educational environment.
• Collaborates with faculty to promote continuity in course components.

Requirements

• Active, Current, Unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree; MSN degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
