About the position

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Widener University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adjunct Faculty. This role involves teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in a variety of subjects related to electrical engineering. The curriculum includes programming using C++, electric circuits, electric circuits lab, logic design, instrumentation lab, probability, statistics, and random processes, controls, computer architecture, power electronics, advanced computer networks, microwave devices and circuits, wireless and cellular telecommunication, telecommunication, mobile computing, object-oriented programming, and satellite communications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and a passion for teaching and mentoring students in their academic pursuits. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering topics.
  • Develop course materials and syllabi for assigned classes.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
  • Engage in academic advising and mentoring of students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the subjects to be taught, including programming, circuits, and telecommunications.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with online or hybrid teaching formats.
  • Industry experience in electrical engineering.
