Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is seeking a dynamic and experienced adjunct professor or team pair of faculty with the requisite skills to join our Master of Architecture program for the Summer 2025 semester. The successful candidate(s) have construction skills, is a licensed architect, and will manage and teach the 'Community Build' summer design and construction course, which is developed in two parts with a local non-profit community partner. An MOU between MassArt and the local non-profit, noting project goals, size parameter, program for the project, budget, location and other information will be provided prior to the commencement of the course. Courses are held in-person, throughout the summer and may be for one or a two-person team. This course enjoys a small student setting of up to 12 students. While you will retain autonomy to shape your classroom and learning experiences as best to fit your teaching style, you will also find the students arriving with shared relevant experiences - design and collaboration experience. Some students will bring construction experience. All or the students shall work under a consensus model, develop and play leadership roles in a broader design studio.
