About the position

The Adjunct Faculty position for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC) involves teaching CPR in Spanish to students in the Home Health Aide (HHA) program. The role requires effective communication with the RN Director Coordinator and providing classroom instruction in basic life support training. The faculty member will also evaluate student performance and provide feedback, all while being sensitive to the diverse needs of the student population.

Responsibilities

  • Teach CPR in Spanish to students enrolled in the Home Health Aide (HHA) program.
  • Communicate in English with WEOC's RN Director Coordinator regarding teaching expectations and course content.
  • Provide classroom instruction in basic life support training to prepare future healthcare professionals.
  • Answer student questions in Spanish and evaluate students' work.
  • Provide written and verbal feedback in Spanish to students.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and work effectively with students who have barriers to employment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a health sciences field from a recognized college or university.
  • One year of practical experience in the health sciences field.
  • Certified as a CPR instructor through AHA or another professional organization.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish.
  • Experience teaching remotely and using a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and maintain a supportive learning environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Benefits

  • $82.57 per hour
