About the position

The Adjunct Faculty for Continuing Education CPR at Lone Star College-Kingwood is responsible for teaching CPR and first aid training courses. This part-time position requires planning, developing, and delivering engaging lessons that facilitate student learning and meet course objectives. The role involves hands-on instruction, maintaining professional relationships with students, and evaluating student progress. Faculty members are expected to uphold the college's mission and contribute positively to the educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches CPR and first aid training courses at various times and locations.
  • Provides hands-on instruction and demonstration of CPR techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breathing, and AED use.
  • Stays current on CPR and first aid guidelines, updates, and best practices.
  • Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
  • Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress.
  • Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Currently certified CPR Instructor through a recognized organization (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, ASHI or HSI).
