About the position

The University of San Diego is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach and develop online courses in the Artificial Intelligence for Business Solutions program. This part-time, temporary position involves creating eight 1-unit courses that are delivered in a self-paced online format, allowing students six months to complete each course. The role emphasizes both teaching and course development, requiring collaboration with the Learning Design Team to ensure effective course delivery.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess student progress in meeting learning objectives through formal and informal assessments.
• Hold office hours for student support and engagement.
• Meet required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information as requested.
• Adhere to safety procedures and departmental standards.
• Collaborate with the Learning Design Team to create and develop courses in the learning management system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in relevant fields.
• Working knowledge of generative AI techniques, such as GANs and VAEs.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Research Science, Big Data, Software Engineering, or Data Analysis.
• Experience with the Canvas learning management system.
