About the position

The Adjunct Faculty position in Early Childhood Education at Bristol Community College involves teaching courses related to early childhood education. Responsibilities

  • Teach Early Childhood Education courses.
  • Complete required trainings, such as Title IX and Cybersecurity.
  • Adhere to workload as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including duties such as completing book orders, creating syllabi, verifying student enrollment, and submitting final grades by the contractual deadline.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with the community.
  • Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.
  • Be available to students either virtually or in-person for assistance meeting course requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience working at the supervisor level in a daycare setting.
  • Ability to travel to supervise internships within a 50-mile radius of Bristol Community College campuses.
  • Ability to teach courses in various modalities: in person, hybrid, online synchronous, or online asynchronous.
  • Proven technological proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctorate preferred.
  • College level teaching experience.
  • Evidence of scholarship.
  • Experience using High Impact Practices.
  • Experience teaching at a community college.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Canvas or any Learning Management System.
  • Graduate of Bristol's Adjunct Certificate Program.
  • 18 graduate credits in Early Childhood Education.
  • Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English, preferably Spanish.
