About the position

Bilingual English/Spanish part-time faculty needed to instruct courses in the Early Childhood Education program. Duties include teaching, assessments, lab/classroom maintenance. Preference given to those with related industry credentials and those with experience with online learning instructions. This position requires a highly qualified, bilingual (Spanish/English) subject matter expert who will instruct these courses and work with other EDEC faculty to create content. Responsibilities

• Create academically effective learning environments focused on student learning and success.
• Continuously improve instructional excellence through assessment.
• Demonstrate professional and collegial interaction with colleagues, staff, students, and community.
• Act in accordance with State Board Policy, Colorado Mesa University: Strategic Plan, Values, Mission and Vision, National Association for the Education of Young Children Code of Ethical Conduct, and CMU Tech guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain and develop skills necessary for excellence in both teaching and maintain CTE certification.
• Maintain necessary educational credentials and professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment.
• Create an effective learning environment for students regardless of delivery method.
• Teach courses consistent with Colorado Common Course Numbering System (CCCNS) template.
• Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, discipline, and college level.
• Conduct various assessments of student performance throughout the course and provide timely and effective feedback.
• Consistently improve course quality and design.
• Solicit feedback and implement suggestions from students and peers.
• Expand knowledge in discipline and teaching craft on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment.
• Use appropriate and required instructional resources and technology effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4000 hours (approximately 2 years' full time) of related occupational experience within the past 7 years.
• Associate degree in the field of education, early childhood or related field.
• Fully Bilingual - English/Spanish.
• Computer literacy.
• Have a Career and Technical Education Certification for Early Childhood Education from the Colorado Department of Education or the ability to earn one.

Nice-to-haves

• 10,000 hours (approximately 5 years full time) of related occupational experience within the past 7 years.
• The majority of experience hours must include working as a lead teacher with at least 1 year as a director/assistant director in an early education facility.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in education.

Benefits

• Salary: $600.00-$850.00 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.
