About the position

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is seeking dynamic adjunct faculty to teach in the Visual & Media Arts Department starting in the Fall semester of 2024. The position involves teaching the course VMA-130 Social Media Strategy, which is scheduled for Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. In this course, students will delve into the techniques and strategies of social media marketing and public relations, focusing on how these can be utilized to promote a company, individual, or product. The curriculum includes case studies and practical exercises that will guide students in identifying business objectives and creating effective marketing campaigns. Students will learn to engage audiences through an integrated marketing approach that encompasses various tools and channels, including social media, online video, podcasts, mobile apps, blogs, news releases, and viral marketing. Additionally, the course will explore potential career pathways in the field of social media and marketing. Candidates are encouraged to include a link to their portfolio in their application, showcasing their professional work in design, marketing, print, or interactive/web production. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about teaching and committed to advancing equity and access in the classroom. The position offers a salary of $1,397.00 per credit hour, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Commercial experience as a graphic designer preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to advancing equity and access in the classroom.
  • College teaching experience, especially at the community college level, preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in social media marketing and public relations.
  • Portfolio demonstrating skills in design, marketing, print, or interactive/web production.
