Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop the curriculum for hospitality management and casino gaming courses.
  • Prepare and provide students with course outlines that support learning objectives set forth in the course syllabus.
  • Develop and measure learning outcomes and assess student performance while maintaining grade records.
  • Create an effective learning environment using a variety of instructional methods.
  • Collaborate in the development and assessment of learning outcomes for program reviews and curriculum revisions.
  • Work with other faculty to complete scheduled program reviews and revise the curriculum based on findings.
  • Participate in professional development activities to ensure currency in discipline knowledge and instructional methods.
  • Attend department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees.
  • Engage in college projects, surveys, studies, and reports related to the discipline or program.
  • Collaborate in the development of program promotional materials.
  • Support the college's goals and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in field or related area; Master's degree preferred.
  • Culinary experience needed for instructional cooking courses.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is expected.
  • Work experience in the discipline to be taught is required.
  • Knowledge of industry-related software and systems, including relevant certifications, is necessary.
  • Degrees must be from an accredited institution.
