The Adjunct Instructor 1 - Manufacturing Engineering Technology position at Ferris State University involves teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory courses in a hands-on academic environment. This is a part-time, temporary role that requires candidates to reside in specific states after acceptance of employment. The position is designed to support the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program and may involve both in-person and online instruction.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods to ensure all course outcomes are met.
• Teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a hands-on academic environment.
• Keeping regular posted office hours convenient for students.
• Participating in academic functions such as reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time.
• Supporting, promoting, and developing university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
• Demonstrating an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Teaching off-campus or in an online environment as required.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with three years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a Master's degree (any) with six years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with eight years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing and being a subject matter expert in a relevant area.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional certifications related to Manufacturing Engineering.
