About the position
The Art Department at Westfield State University seeks applications for part-time instructors for the Fall Semester 2024. The available positions include an online Animation 3 instructor, Printmaking 1 and 2 instructors, an online or hybrid Illustration 1 instructor, and a hybrid or in-person Writing for Art and the Artist instructor. There is also an 'Open Pool' position for Fall 2024, from which the hiring manager will draw as needed when openings occur. All part-time faculty are responsible for providing students with a high-quality learning environment, which includes instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes, instructional preparation, assessment of student performance, and availability to students by appointment.
Responsibilities
- Teach course(s) in specific discipline
- Responsible for instructional preparation and assessment of student performance
- Provide assistance to students by appointment
- Submit final grades in a timely fashion
- Prepare course syllabus
- Attend a limited number of faculty meetings
Requirements
- An earned Bachelor's Degree in Animation, Illustration, Art History, or Studio Art
- An MFA along with collegiate teaching experience preferred
