Lansing Community College is seeking a professional to teach in the Computer Information Technologies program. Teaching assignments would include: Python, C#, Java, SQL, Android, and iOS as well as future programming languages. The incumbent will participate regularly as a member of departmental and divisional teams and will work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment. Further, the incumbent will support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives and remain current in the subject area. They will possess the ability to work closely with business and industry and other program areas for course and curriculum development. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Computer Information Technologies program including Python, C#, Java, SQL, Android, and iOS.
  • Participate regularly as a member of departmental and divisional teams.
  • Work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment.
  • Support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives.
  • Remain current in the subject area.
  • Collaborate with business and industry for course and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum two (2) years' recent professional work experience in the information technology field; OR Associate's Degree and minimum four (4) years' recent professional work experience in the information technology field.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts from each institution of higher learning where either a degree has been conferred or coursework completed are required documents that must be submitted as part of the online application process.
  • Applicants with foreign education credentials must contact a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for an academic transcript evaluation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated experience writing structured, object-oriented, and mobile applications.
  • Software Tester Certification.
  • Java Certification.
  • Two years' experience teaching in higher education or experience in the business field as a trainer.
  • Experience with design tools such as flow charts and UML diagrams.
  • Programmer Developer/Java Certification.
  • Experience building database applications using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience building multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience creating queries using LINQ.
