About the position

The Adjunct Instructor for Computer Applications at Springfield Technical Community College is a part-time role focused on teaching courses in the field of computer applications. This position is designed for candidates who are available to teach on-site at least two days a week during the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The instructor will engage with students in a classroom setting, assess their performance, and provide assistance as needed, while also participating in professional development and faculty meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conducts classes.
• Prepares for instruction.
• Assesses student performance.
• Provides student assistance by appointment.
• Engages in professional development and required trainings.
• Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.

Requirements

• Master's degree within the field or 18 credits of graduate level work specific to the field.
• College teaching experience, high school teaching experience, or adult education experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful community college teaching experience.
• Commitment to fostering inclusiveness, equity and diversity within the academic setting.
• Teaching experience with Early College students or at the High School level.
• Commitment to the mission of the community college.
• Experience building and facilitating asynchronous or hybrid courses using a standard learning management system.
