About the position

Responsibilities

- Develop accurate syllabi and maintain attendance records, grades, and provide feedback to students.
- Ensure compliance with Texas State Commission rules and guidelines.
- Deliver effective instruction and develop curriculum in line with college policies.
- Integrate real-life situations into learning experiences to promote critical thinking and teamwork.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve measurable learning outcomes.
- Design assessments that measure student growth and align with learning opportunities.
- Participate in professional development and stay current in academic fields.
- Engage in community service and college activities as part of collegial participation.
- Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere and be available to students during office hours.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in the teaching discipline or a High School Diploma with 3 years of active law enforcement experience.
- Strong commitment to quality teaching and student success.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching experience in a community college setting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL).
