About the position
Dyersburg State Community College is seeking adjunct instructors for Early Childhood Education to teach day, evening, and online classes across various locations including Dyersburg, Covington, and Paris. The role involves preparing course materials, evaluating student learning, and maintaining class records while utilizing the course management system (eLearn). Instructors will also be responsible for attending required meetings and reporting attendance and grades in a timely manner. This position reports to the Chair of Business & Technology and the Dean of Arts, Sciences, & Technologies.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in Early Childhood Education at various locations.
- Prepare course materials and evaluate student learning.
- Maintain class records and submit required reports on time.
- Attend required meetings and report attendance and grades before deadlines.
- Communicate curriculum and personnel needs to the assigned chair/dean.
Requirements
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood Education for transfer courses.
- Bachelor's degree with previous teaching experience or graduate work for non-transfer courses.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and college personnel.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
