About The Position

Laramie County Community College is dedicated to student success and aspires to develop world-class community college faculty. The College's instructional faculty positions have the primary responsibilities of teaching assigned courses, being available for students, and collaborating on departmental objectives when applicable. In addition, all faculty work in alignment with the College's mission, vision, and values to continuously improve as professional educators and experts in their field. Faculty further serve the College in collaborative and collegial relationships across the institution. LCCC supports adjunct faculty by providing an environment conducive to excellent teaching and learning, classroom equipment and supplies, and resources to meet the challenges that arise in the course of teaching. This position requires a variable work schedule that may change each semester. Typically, the schedule will be Monday through Friday teaching afternoon and evening courses. The work schedule may be adjusted to meet institutional and department needs.

Requirements

  • Four years' experience in an industrial maintenance field.
  • Proficient in hydraulic/pneumatic systems, mechanical drives and basic AC/DC Electricity.
  • Working knowledge of chains, v-belts, spur gears, bearings, and couplings.
  • A working knowledge of OSHA and mechanical safety procedures.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to be insured by the College's insurance provider.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS and six (6) years of work experience as a maintenance technician, trainer, or educator to include prior teaching experience at the high school level.
  • Experience with web-based learning management systems.
  • Two or more years of college-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes as per course plan and schedule (primarily evening and weekends) and meet required contact hours.
  • Conduct a fair evaluation of students' performance applied equally to all.
  • Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies.
  • Develop and maintain instructional materials to support course and program competencies.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Incorporate current subject matter expertise into instruction.
  • Utilize varied learning activities to maximize student engagement and success.
  • Support student learning with timely and ongoing feedback on progress.
  • Comply with College procedures, practices, and deadlines related to instructional delivery.
  • Utilize LCCC email accounts to communicate with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Maintain current subject matter expertise and expand knowledge through professional development.
