About the position
The Adjunct Instructor for Manufacturing Engineering Technology-Systems (METS) at Lansing Community College is responsible for teaching courses related to Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Mechatronics. This part-time position requires a commitment to student success and the ability to develop instructional materials that incorporate best practices and modern web technologies. The instructor will engage with students in both daytime and evening classes, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Instruct courses in Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Mechatronics.
- Develop classroom materials utilizing best practices and web technologies.
- Troubleshoot automated systems and provide relevant industry insights.
- Maintain a regular on-campus presence for teaching and student engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Technologies or a related field with a minimum of two years of recent, relevant work experience, OR
- Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technologies or a related field with a minimum of four years of recent, relevant work experience, OR
- Journey status in a manufacturing trade with a minimum of four years of recent, relevant work experience, OR
- High School Diploma with a minimum of eight years of recent, relevant documented work experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Instructional teaching experience in secondary and/or post-secondary education.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field.
- Experience in industrial robotic programming.
- Experience in Programmable Logic Controller programming.
