About the position
The Adjunct Instructor - Mathematics position is responsible for providing quality instruction to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and evaluating student performance in both classroom and laboratory settings. The role emphasizes effective teaching and the management of student learning activities, ensuring adherence to departmental guidelines and academic standards.
Responsibilities
- Planning and teaching classes as assigned and outlined in the course descriptions and syllabi.
- Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned.
- Submitting requests for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the department head or program coordinator.
- Evaluating the academic progress of students.
- Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook.
- Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required.
- Scheduling two office hours and providing a written plan to the Dean if unable to do so.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the Mathematics teaching field.
Benefits
- Part-time work experience calculated at 50% of full-time experience.
