About the position
The Adjunct Instructor of Veterinary Technology at San Juan College is a part-time faculty role responsible for teaching online college-level courses and labs in veterinary technology. The position requires effective communication with students, grading assignments, maintaining student records, and holding office hours. Instructors are expected to embody the college's values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence while engaging in professional development activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach online college-level courses and/or labs in veterinary technology.
- Evaluate student learning and provide feedback on assignments.
- Maintain student records and connect actively with online students.
- Hold a minimum of 1-3 office hours per week for student appointments.
- Participate in Adjunct Professional Development activities and complete required online training.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technology Program or a DVM/VMD.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred, especially in online courses.
- Graduation from an AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technology Program and RVT/LVT/CVT designation is preferred.
- Ability to use San Juan College's Learning Management System (Canvas) and technology-enhanced curriculum.
- Access to home internet, a personal computer, and telephone.
