About the position

The Adjunct Instructor for the Unmanned Ground Flight School at Tallahassee State College is responsible for teaching an introductory course in Digital Media Editing. This role focuses on equipping students with essential skills to create quality content using UAV footage, emphasizing the use of various editing software and principles. The instructor will guide students through the technical aspects of digital media editing, ensuring they understand the necessary tools and techniques to succeed in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Introduction to Digital Media Editing course for the Unmanned Ground Flight School.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the course objectives.
  • Provide instruction on editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
  • Guide students in understanding camera types, functions, and UAS technology.
  • Assist students in troubleshooting technical issues related to video and audio editing.
  • Evaluate student projects and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • FAA Part 107 License preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and Final Cut Pro.
  • Strong technical skills in video and audio editing, including cutting, trimming, and syncing.
  • In-depth understanding of various types of cameras and their components.
  • Experience in curriculum development and classroom management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience in teaching or instructional roles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to emerging trends.
