About the position

The position involves providing quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations. Faculty members are responsible for the quality of the educational program, which includes teaching classes and labs focused on various welding techniques such as Cutting Processes, MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Instructors will guide students on the use of shop equipment and ensure a comprehensive understanding of welding symbols and specifications. The role requires maintaining order in classrooms and labs, ensuring proper storage of materials and equipment after each lab session, and implementing active learning techniques that cater to diverse learning styles. Faculty are expected to focus on student learning outcomes, accommodating individual differences while upholding the academic integrity of the college. Additionally, faculty may be assigned other duties by the program or department chair, which may include teaching day, evening, or weekend classes as required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes and labs including Cutting Processes, MIG, TIG, & Stick welding.
  • Instruct students on the use of shop equipment.
  • Maintain order of classrooms and labs.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials and equipment at the end of each lab session.
  • Implement active learning techniques and a variety of learner-centered instructional strategies.
  • Focus on student learning outcomes considering the needs and abilities of students.
  • Support students' educational goals and accommodate individual differences while maintaining academic integrity.
  • Work with students, peers, and administrative staff in a professional manner.
  • Teach day or evening classes as required, with the possibility of weekend classes.

Requirements

  • A diploma in Welding Technology.
  • 3 years of welding experience.
  • Some teaching experience.
  • AWS certifications credentials.
  • Good communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-10 years of welding experience.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience.
  • AWS certifications; CWE and CWI credentials.
