About the position
The Adjunct Instructor position at Unitek College involves teaching general education courses in various nursing degree programs. The role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction, developing coursework, and evaluating student progress while utilizing innovative teaching methodologies. The instructor will also engage in professional development and maintain communication with students to support their learning journey.
Responsibilities
- Instruct general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.
- Develop coursework for assigned classes.
- Continuously improve the quality of instruction by utilizing innovative teaching methodologies.
- Review and revise syllabi and instructional guidelines.
- Evaluate students' progress and inform them of their achievements in a timely manner.
- Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives.
- Maintain student records of attendance and grades.
- Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver course content.
- Provide ongoing communication with students through office hours and electronic methods.
- Participate in professional development and maintain CE hours for licensure renewal.
- Commit to teaching a multicultural and multigenerational student body.
- Participate in Quarterly Online Faculty meetings.
Requirements
- Master's Degree required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
- Experience mentoring students and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous online teaching experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching Anatomy & Physiology, English, Intermediate Algebra, Psychology, and other general education subjects.
- Familiarity with current clinical practice experience.
