About the position

The Department of Art and Art History at Florida International University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Studio Art. The role involves developing and utilizing a course syllabus in accordance with institutional guidelines and fulfilling other related duties as assigned. This position is temporary and will remain open for the 2024-2025 academic year, with applications reviewed based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Studio Art.
  • Develop and utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  • Fulfill other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's in Fine Art/Art or equivalent with graduate hours in the teaching specialty (painting, sculpture, metals, printmaking, photography, ceramics, visual communications, digital art) for Primary Instructor.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art/Art or equivalent for Secondary Instructor, Course Assistant and Other Instructional roles.
  • Professional experience in the field.
